Looking for a FaveCard alternative?
The main reasons businesses look for a FaveCard alternative are enrolment friction at a busy counter, missing language or regional support, and needing a card mechanic their current platform does not offer. If none of those apply to you, switching is rarely worth the cost of re-enrolling your existing customers.
When you should stay with FaveCard
If your programme is working, stay. Switching costs you re-enrolment of your entire customer base, and that cost is almost always underestimated. FaveCard is a capable product, and these are real reasons to keep it:
- Your budget is zero and you want something running today
- You are happy for the card to be a web page rather than a wallet card
- Stamps are the only mechanic you need
- Your customers arrive through social links rather than through a door
When an alternative makes sense
The reasons to move are operational rather than cosmetic:
- Being in the phone's wallet is the point: you want the card next to their bank cards
- Your counter is busy and you do not want customers scanning anything
- You need points, not just stamps
- You need Arabic or another language properly supported, or Gulf coverage
What switching costs
Your existing customers have to be re-enrolled. Wallet cards are signed with a certificate belonging to the platform that issued them and cannot be transferred to another provider. This is a property of how Apple and Google secure cards, not a restriction any vendor chose.
Plan for a transition period where you run both systems, enrol new customers on the new one, and migrate regulars as they come in. For most independent businesses that covers the majority of active customers in six to eight weeks.
How Loonine differs
FaveCard is the strongest free option in this category and the comparison should start by conceding that: its free plan has no time limit and no customer cap, while Loonine's Free plan cannot enrol customers at all. What the free plan does not include is the wallet card: the card is reached through a browser, and Apple Wallet and Google Wallet cards sit behind the paid tier. FaveCard is also stamps-only and enrols by QR code or shared link rather than by phone number.
